I will soon be serving in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission where I will take upon me the name of Jesus Christ and serve him for a period of 18 months, striving to bring souls unto Christ. I report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on June 15, 2011 and will return home in December of 2012.

A Few Pictures!

This is the Temple that will be in my mission. It is the called The Swiss Temple, and is near Bern, Switzerland.

This is a picture a friend sent me and she said, "this is overall representative of how beautiful Germany is!" I can't wait!

This is President and Sister Condie. President Condie is the current mission president but I will be getting a new mission president as of the first of July! They are President and Sister Miles.

I have a friend who knows President Miles, and his wife is Elder Nelson's daughter! So I'm sure I'll be seeing Elder Nelson a few times on my mission. :)

Welcome

Hello there fellow friends, family, and other bloggers. This Blog is designed to keep those who are interested informed of what is going on while I am on my mission. I am hoping to have someone who will update the blog weekly. I will send a letter home to my family each week and will hopefully be able to post that letter on here. If you know of anyone who might be willing to do it, please let me know! I love my dear mother, but she is still learning much about the whole "e-mailing" thing and I don't want to burden her with having to learn how to blog in the next month or so.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve my Father in Heaven. It is truly His mission that I am serving. Not my own, not the prophets, but our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the reason we even have a chance at returning to the presence of God. It is by Him and through His Atonement that we are saved and can be sanctified. He suffered, bled and died, and was resurrected so that we may live again. He provides the way; the ONLY way that we can dwell with our Father again. I  know this to be true through personal revelation I have been so blessed to receive, after carefully studying the words of the Book of Mormon. I  know the Book of Mormon to be true. It is "the most correct of any book on the earth... and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." (Joseph Smith) I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by a prophet of God, whose name was Joseph Smith Jr. He sealed his testimony with his blood as have so many prophets of old. Since the prophet Joseph, we have had many other prophets who have held the keys to administer the gospel here on earth as they did in the time of Jesus Christ. The prophet whom we heed today is named Thomas S Monson. He is the current president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and as such is the mouth piece of the Lord. Follow his counsel and be saved, murmur and be lost forever. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Only true church on the planet Earth. There are many sects that have many truths, but it is this church that has the whole truth. It is taught line upon line, precept upon precept and is clear in every principle taught. The gospel is simple. It wasn't meant to be so complex that only the scholars could interpret or comprehend. "Become like a little child." Is the call of our Master.

I hope that I can find those that are seeking the truth in Austria, Switzerland, and Southern Germany, so that they may be brought back to the fold of God and rejoice at His coming along side their fellow members of the church, family, and friends. The Gospel is alive. Catch the Spirit, go forth and spread the Word to those who will hear.
